Choose the Cruz V3 if

One child is the plan, or a second is years away. You use narrow shop aisles, small lifts or an older front door: at 57.2 cm the Cruz clears everything the Vista's 65.3 cm occasionally does not. Your boot is on the small side. You would rather have 500 dollars back and a bassinet only if you decide you want one.

Choose the Vista V3 if

A second child within three years is likely, or you have twins coming. The Vista converts to a double with a RumbleSeat and back to a single when you are done, which is the cheapest double pram you can own over five years because it is a single you already have. The bassinet is in the box. The basket is the biggest in the range by volume. It is 0.5 kg heavier and 8.1 cm wider, and for most families that is a fair trade.

What is identical

The toddler seat: same fabric, same recline, same canopy with the extending sun visor, same reversible fit. The fold: both triggers on the handlebar, both stand when folded. The capsule: a Mesa clicks onto either directly, and Maxi-Cosi, Nuna and Joie capsules go on either with the same upper adapters. The warranty: three years, plus lifetime service support. The Vista's frame is longer to make room for a second seat, which is where the weight and the extra fold length come from. The Vista's rear wheels are larger, which is why it rolls better over gravel and kerbs. Both baskets are rated to the same load; the Vista's is deeper and longer, so more fits.
