Vista V3, Cruz V3, Minu V3 and Minu Duo are all suitable from birth as sold. Vista includes the bassinet in the box. Cruz and Minu include an infant insert and a from-birth recline. Minu Duo is from birth on both seats.

Ridge V2 is the exception. It is a jogger, and it needs a bassinet or a Mesa capsule to be used before about six months.

Kona is from birth with the bassinet or a Mesa capsule.

Vista carries up to three children and Cruz carries one. That is the decision.

Both have the same seat quality, the same canopy and the same fabrics. Vista has a larger frame that accepts a second seat, a second bassinet or a PiggyBack board, and it ships with the bassinet included. Cruz is narrower and lighter and does not take a second seat at all.

Vista is $1,799 and weighs 12.5 kg with the seat on. Cruz is $1,299 and weighs 12 kg. If one child is genuinely the plan, Cruz is the better buy and the smaller fold.

Yes. Vista V3 takes a second seat or a second bassinet on the same frame, and a PiggyBack board makes room for a third child to stand at the back. There are more than thirty configurations off the one frame.

This is the reason Vista costs more than Cruz. If a second child is possible, Vista is the frame that absorbs it without you buying a second pram.

Minu Duo. It is a side-by-side double with two equal-sized seats, both usable from birth, and it is narrow enough to clear a standard 73 cm doorway.

Vista is also an option for twins using two bassinets or two seats, but it carries them one in front of the other rather than side by side, and it is a larger fold. Minu Duo is $1,299.

Minu V3, at 7.6 kg. It folds to 25 x 45 x 55 cm and stands on its own.

It is the only model in the range that folds small enough to be treated as carry-on sized luggage, which is why it is the usual choice for families who fly.

In the UPPAbaby range, prams are the full-size frames with larger wheels, larger baskets and reversible or convertible seating: Vista, Cruz, Ridge and Kona. Strollers are the lighter, more compact frames built around a small fold: Minu V3 and Minu Duo.

The words are used interchangeably in Australia, so the practical question is not what it is called but how big it is folded and how many children it carries. The comparison tool puts those side by side.

Measure the shortest side of your boot opening and compare it to the pram's folded height, which is the dimension that usually decides it.

Folded with the seat attached: Minu V3 is 25 x 45 x 55 cm. Kona is 34 x 53.3 x 65.5 cm. Vista V3 is 41.4 x 65.3 x 85.9 cm. Cruz V3 is 43 x 57.2 x 82.3 cm. Minu Duo is 33 x 70.6 x 60.2 cm. Ridge V2 is 49.5 x 65 x 91.4 cm.

The Minu Duo is 70.6 cm wide, and it is designed to fit through a standard 73 cm doorway.

Those are two different measurements. The pram itself is 70.6 cm; the 73 cm figure is the doorway it clears.

Minu V3 is 7.6 kg, Kona is 9.9 kg, Cruz V3 is 12 kg with the seat on, Vista V3 is 12.5 kg with the seat on, Minu Duo is 12.7 kg and Ridge V2 is 13.7 kg.

Vista splits into a 9 kg frame and a 3.5 kg seat, which matters if you are lifting it into a high boot on your own.

Vista V3, Cruz V3 and Kona take a child to 22.7 kg. Minu V3 takes a child to 22 kg. Minu Duo takes 22.7 kg per seat.

In practice most children are out of a pram before they reach the weight limit, so seat height and legroom tend to matter more than the number.

The Mesa clicks directly onto Vista and Cruz with no adapters. It fits Minu V3, Minu Duo, Ridge V2 and Kona with the matching adapter set, sold separately.

That means a sleeping baby moves from the car to the pram without being unbuckled, which is the single most useful thing a capsule does.

The Mesa capsule is CASA approved for aircraft use. Prams are normally checked at the gate rather than carried on.

Use a travel bag. Damage caused by airline shipping and handling is specifically excluded from the UPPAbaby warranty, so an unprotected pram in an aircraft hold is at your own risk.

From Birth (2.0 kg) to 15 kg, which is approximately birth to 12 months. It is low birthweight tested and approved, and there is a custom-fit infant insert for premature babies.

The carrier weighs 4.7 kg without the canopy and insert, and the base weighs 4.1 kg.
