TravelSafe Program
Damage caused by airline shipping and handling is excluded from the standard UPPAbaby warranty, as it is from most pram warranties. TravelSafe closes that gap: buy an UPPAbaby travel bag, register it and your gear before you fly, and air travel damage is covered for four years from purchase.
The registration has to happen before you travel. It cannot be done afterwards.
The gap this fills
Read the UPPAbaby warranty carefully and you will find this exclusion: damage resulting from airline shipping and handling is not covered.
That is not unusual. No pram warranty covers a baggage handler. But it leaves a real hole, because gate-checking a pram is one of the most likely moments in its life for something to get bent.
TravelSafe is the answer to that specific hole. Buy an UPPAbaby travel bag, register it, and air travel damage is covered under the terms of your original warranty.
The bag is not an upsell bolted onto the programme, it is the thing that makes the programme possible. A pram in a padded bag survives a hold; a pram gate-checked naked frequently does not. Requiring the bag is how the cover stays affordable.

Register before you fly
This is the step people miss, and it is the one that cannot be done retrospectively.
- Buy an UPPAbaby travel bag
For the pram, the RumbleSeat or the bassinet, depending on what you are taking.
- Find the TravelSafe label inside the bag
It carries a serial number. Photograph it.
- Register the gear and the bag online, before you depart
Both the product and the bag, using that serial number, on the TravelSafe registration form. Registering after the flight does not work.
- Gate-check with the bag on
Keep your boarding passes and baggage receipts. You will need proof of travel if you claim.
If something is damaged
You have 14 days from travel. This window is short, so start the claim before you unpack properly.
Open a ticket marked TravelSafe with:
- Proof of travel: boarding passes or an itinerary showing the date
- Photographs of the damage, and one of the whole product
- Photographs of the bag, including any damage to it
- The serial numbers of both the gear and the travel bag
- Your original purchase receipts for both
Photograph the pram and the bag before you check them in. A before-and-after pair settles a claim faster than anything else.
The limits, stated plainly
Australia only. Your warranty is valid only in the country of purchase, and we ship only within Australia. TravelSafe covers your gear on international trips, but any repair or replacement happens here.
It is not travel insurance. It covers damage to UPPAbaby gear in transit. It does not cover loss, theft, or anything the airline should be compensating you for directly. If an airline loses your pram, that is a claim against the airline.
Claim against the airline too. Airlines have their own liability for damaged checked items and their own, usually shorter, reporting windows. Report the damage at the airport before you leave the baggage hall.
Register before you go
Registration has to happen before departure. It takes a few minutes and it is the whole programme.
