    The mattress is a breathable mesh and the sidewalls are mesh on every side, so air moves through the whole sleep surface and you can see your baby without leaning over. The mattress and its quilted cover are fully washable. It runs from an AC adapter with the cable routed through the frame rather than left loose. UPPAbaby is a member of the Infant & Nursery Product Alliance Australia, the industry body for nursery product safety.

    Cleaning it

    The mesh mattress and the quilted cover are both fully washable. Unplug it before you clean anything, and let everything dry completely before a baby goes back in.

    Stop using it when your baby can push up on hands and knees

    This is the limit that matters, and it usually arrives before the weight one does. Stop using the Soma at 11.34 kg or the first time your baby pushes up on their hands and knees, whichever happens first.

    Never add a mattress, pillow, or padding of your own

    Use the mattress and cover supplied and nothing else. Anything added to a sleep surface changes it, and the Soma was tested with what is in the box.

    The AC adapter is part of the product, not an accessory

    Use only the adapter supplied. Route the cable through the frame as shown so it is not left loose near the bassinet.
