The Vista V3 folds in one movement once you know where the triggers are, and it folds with the toddler seat still on, facing either way. What catches new owners is not the fold itself but what has to come off before it: the bassinet, a second seat, a capsule. Here is the whole thing, in order.

Comes off first: Bassinet, RumbleSeat, Mesa capsule, adapters

Can stay on: Toddler seat (either direction), PiggyBack board folded up, bumper bar

The fold: Seat upright, canopy closed, both handlebar triggers, push forward

Folded size: 41.4 × 65.3 × 85.9 cm with the seat, 28.7 × 65.3 × 82.9 cm without

Before you fold

Put the brake on. Then take off anything that is not the toddler seat. The bassinet lifts straight up once you press the release buttons on both sides. A RumbleSeat comes off the same way, and its adapters come off after it. A Mesa capsule releases with the handle up. A PiggyBack board folds up against the frame and can stay.

If the toddler seat is on, bring it fully upright and close the canopy. The seat can face you or face out; the Vista folds either way.

The fold, step by step

1. Brake on, basket light

A heavy basket makes the frame reluctant to close. Take the nappy bag out.

2. Seat upright, canopy closed

Recline is the one thing that stops a Vista folding. Sit the seat up, pull the canopy back.

3. Both triggers on the handlebar

There is a fold trigger under each end of the handlebar. Squeeze both at once.

4. Push forward and down

With the triggers held, push the handlebar forward. The frame folds in on itself and the auto-lock catches with a click. Let go.

5. Stand it up

The Vista V3 stands on its own when folded, seat on or off. Lift by the handlebar to carry it.

To unfold

Release the auto-lock latch on the side of the frame, then lift the handlebar up and back until the frame clicks open. Check the click. Then the bassinet or seat goes back on, and the brake comes off last.

Seat on or seat off?

Seat on is faster and it is how most people fold every day. Seat off is flatter, 28.7 × 65.3 × 82.9 cm against 41.4 × 65.3 × 85.9 cm, and is the fold to use for a small boot or a plane. The seat comes off with the two release buttons on its sides, and it is worth doing once at home before you need to do it in a car park.

The double setup film shows the seats and adapters going on and coming off, which is the same movement in reverse.

Questions parents ask

Can the Vista V3 fold with the seat attached?

Yes. The Vista V3 folds with the toddler seat on, facing either way. Bring the seat upright and close the canopy first. It also folds without the seat, which is the flattest fold at 28.7 × 65.3 × 82.9 cm.

Can the Vista fold with the bassinet on?

No. Lift the bassinet off first: press the release buttons on both sides of the bassinet and lift straight up. The pram folds without it and the bassinet sits flat in the boot beside it.

Can the Vista fold with the RumbleSeat or a capsule attached?

No. The RumbleSeat, a Mesa capsule and any adapters come off before folding. The PiggyBack board can stay on in its folded-up position.

Does the Vista stand on its own when folded?

Yes. The Vista V3 stands upright on its own when folded, with the seat attached or not, so it takes up floor space rather than needing a wall.

How big is the Vista V3 folded?

41.4 × 65.3 × 85.9 cm with the toddler seat attached, and 28.7 × 65.3 × 82.9 cm with it off. Our boot-fit checker compares that with your car.

If the fold sticks

Nine times in ten it is the recline: sit the seat fully upright. The tenth time it is something left in the basket or a RumbleSeat adapter still on the frame. If the locking latch has worn, it is a spare part and there is a film on replacing it. The full manual is on the manuals page, and a free Tune-Up Day will check the fold, brakes and wheels for you.
